93.  Gold gothic-revival lorgnette pendant.  French.   This wonderful carved piece of gold was de rigueur for a wealthy woman who did not want to continuously wear eyeglasses, so she would suspend a lorgnette from a long chain.  She would press a button on the side of the lorgnette and the lens would unfold for her to bring close to her eyes.
