86. Secessionist-movement, Limoges enamel, rose-cut diamond and gold portrait brooch. Limoges enamel portrait brooches were popular in the late 1800’s and usually represented a famous actress or classical opera diva in stage costume. The brooch has a secessionist feel to it…very similar to Gustav Klimt’ s paintings. Probably made in Austria at the turn of the century. Back to Art Nouveau |
