73.  Carved gold brooch of a chimerical serpent wearing a crown.  Froment Meurice, Paris.        One of the greatest jewelers in late 19th century Paris, Froment Meurice made exquisite and intricately carved jewelry in both renaissance revival and gothic revival styles.  He was a master in flight of fantasy chimerical jewelry.  Froment Meurice jewelry is very rare and highly collected.
