Ruby, sapphire, emerald, woven and granulated gold, Etruscan-revival bolla and necklace with retractable lion’s head terminals.  Castellani, London.  Exceptional example of the finest Victorian jewelry ever made.  The style is Etruscan revival with spun and woven high karat yellow gold necklace with slides to adjust the length and look of the necklace.  Notice the intricate gold bead work and the fine cabochon cut gem stones.  Etruscan revival refers to jewelry made in the Victorian era to mimic the jewelry archaeologists were unearthing in the ruins of Pompeii and Herculean.  Castellani was one of the great jeweler makers of the Victorian era.  This is also a very wearable and dramatic piece of jewelry for a collector or someone looking for a very unusual neck piece.
