39.  Magnificent, eighteenth century-cut diamond, silver and gold drop earrings.  French.  These impressive and rare earrings were made in the Napoleonic era in France.  The diamonds are set in silver (as platinum had not been invented) with backings of 18kt yellow gold.  These earrings are stunning on the ear.  Their length and exceptional condition make these earrings very rare. The diamonds were cut for shimmering candlelight.
